Teaching and Training

We are a practice which helps to train GPs and we are pleased to have GP Registrars working with us on placements of 6 months to 2 years.  GP Registrars are qualified hospital doctors who are training for a career in general practice.  We also host Foundation Year 2 doctors, who are also qualified hospital doctors.  All doctors in training have a named supervisor for all their surgeries. Our GP Registrar trainers are Dr Penny Moore,  Dr Karen Howie, and Dr Lorna Monteith.  Our F2 trainers are Dr Kyle Knox and Dr Lynsey Bennett.

Our doctors will occasionally video their consultations for training purposes. You will always be asked for consent before this but if you do not wish your consultation to be recorded please let us know.  A copy of our Consent to Observer policy can be found below.

Further information can be found at the Oxford Deanery website

Medical Students

We also participate in the teaching of Oxford University medical students and you may be asked if they can observe your consultation with the doctor. Please tell the receptionist if you would prefer to see the doctor alone.  For more information about medical student training please click here

Training helps us to recruit and retain doctors with an interest in education, teaching and further learning, and keeps us all learning and up-to-date.  We consider this to be a strength of our practice.
